What a great start to the year - this brand new instrument was finished just in time for a New Year's Eve party in the beautiful Dorset countryside. A selection of talented musicians, none of whom had played a Badgermin before, treated us to a debut performance in the early hours of January 1st, with grand piano accompaniment.
The electronics are from a PAiA Theremax kit, with new 8mm diameter removable antennae. Please get in touch if you would like customised theremin.
200 points to whoever it was that said "Can't wait to see it play a live sett..."
New video below, featuring the fantastically talented thereminist Charlie Draper. I had the pleasure of hearing Charlie perform in a music room at St. John's College Cambridge, with Ben-San Lau accompanying on the piano. Ben-San was sight reading the piece, but being very modest about it all.
Please visit Charlie's site to check when he may be performing next.
The Badgermin has now been sold, and has begun a new lease of life in a recording studio. Email dave (at) this website if you would like to commission a project, or check out more sculptures and instruments for sale here
