This was an insane rush job. The client had ordered a 3D printed lightbulb prop from another company, but it went wrong for some reason. No time to print another, and the shoot was scheduled for the next day.
The client emailed a PDF profile, and 5 hours later the bulb was finished and ready for painting. The spiral thread was turned into rings to speed things up.
2022 update: I remember after finishing a long day in 2013 at the workshop over in Acton, London, I headed over to the studio of The Horrors, to pick up a synth that needed repairing. Tom Furse was telling me about the artwork for an upcoming compilation the band were working on, and asked what I'd been doing. I remember being covered in dust and saying "I had to make a pretend lightbulb today". It seemed to be such a different world to being in a cool band.
