A sculptural commission for multinational healthcare company F. Hoffmann-La Roche, via Galliard Healthcare Communications.
Jennifer and Annie were great to work with - open to ideas and allowing lots of flexibility with the brief. The initial enquiry mentioned sculpting the lungs out of fibreglass, but after some discussion it was decided a metal frame might look more elegant. Steel rods echoed the interlobular septa of real lungs.
Upon completion the lungs were packed into two huge crates, and I followed them on a very pleasant trip to Basel.
The construction process of the frame was interesting - build photos here.
