Palme speaker
Another project with the very talented theremin and ondes Martenot player Charlie Draper.
We had previously worked together on the métallique and theremin speaker, but this time we also enlisted the help of master guitar luthier Adrian Lucas.
My involvement was to specify the transducers that drive the two sets of chromatically tuned strings, and to take care of the metalwork for the tailpieces and adjustable transducer brackets, but Adrian built the remaining 99%.
Adrian made an astoundingly beautiful object, and Charlie is the exact right person to make this strange 1950s speaker / instrument hybrid sound fantastic. This was a wonderful project.
